Signaling course outline (Raghu-RP, Sunil-SL, Sandeep-SK), Feb-April 2017

Course will consist of two classes a week (Tuesday and thursday), one lecture covering a topic, and one set of papers for discussion. Total: 10 lectures+10 discussions

Open house on Thursday, 31st, for a short summary of the course outline and structure. This will be at the colonnade (SLC) at 10 am.

5) Mechanisms of protein phosphorylation by kinases (& ub & ac) (SL) Mar 5, 7

6) Reversing signals (phosphatases, phosphodiesterases etc) (SL) Mar 12, 14

No class in the week of March 18 – 22 (inStem annual talks)

7) Allosteric regulation of signaling enzymes (SL) Mar 26, 28

8) Signaling complexes (RP) April 2, 4

9) Modern methods to study signaling (SL) April 9, 11

10) Variability and noise (SK) April 16, 18

Final exam TBD, end of April

Course assessment:

50% for course participation, weekly discussion sections

50% from the exam, which will be a traditional question paper with 5 questions (any three to be answered).
